We Are Featured in Het Financieele Dagblad

Human Material Loop was featured in Het Financieele Dagblad, one of the Netherlands’ leading financial newspapers, in an article titled “Fabric made from human hair: we are actually carrying valuable wool on our heads.”
The article explores the thinking behind Human Material Loop and our ambition to transform human hair from an overlooked waste stream into an industrial raw material.
Every day, hair is cut in salons and discarded. Yet from a material perspective, hair is an exceptionally interesting natural fiber. It is strong, keratin-rich, continuously renewable and already available around us.
At Human Material Loop, we believe innovation starts by questioning what we consider waste. Through ādara®, we transform human hair into high-performance keratin fibers that can be processed by the textile industry.
The feature also reflects on the larger ambition behind our work: creating new material systems that make better use of resources already in circulation.
Some of the materials we need for the future may already be growing on us.
