We are selected for BIONetZero Stage 1 funding

We are proud to share that Human Material Loop has been selected in the first cohort of the BIONetZero project, receiving Stage 1 funding to advance our bio-based solution.

BIONetZero is a flagship European initiative supporting innovative SMEs driving the transition toward a net-zero economy in the agrifood and energy-intensive industries.

Out of many competitive applicants, our project to scale commercial production of ādara® — our keratin-based fiber — convinced a European consortium of leading clusters (Food & Bio Cluster Denmark, CLIB - Cluster Industrielle Biotechnologie, LITMEA | Smart Food Cluster, Bioeconomy Cluster) to back our transition from pilot-stage innovation to market-ready material, with a strong focus on certification, compliance, and production efficiency for the textile and interior sectors.

What is next?

We are heading to Denmark in September for the project kick-off and networking event alongside some of the most innovative SMEs in the European bioeconomy. This is where the next development phases and strategic partnerships will take shape.

Why does this matter?

The textile industry is under growing pressure to move beyond fossil-based and resource-intensive materials — and biotechnology is emerging as one of the most promising paths forward. Support from initiatives like BIONetZero project does not just fund innovation; it accelerates the timeline for bio-based materials like ādara® to reach the scale the industry actually needs.

For us, the project will enable the development of prototypes tailored to real application requirements in the textile and interior sectors. At the same time, our focus will be directed toward improving production efficiency, ensuring consistency, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
